Standstill

Well the past 24 hours have been hard work. Its been take a star and wait. Pink has been snapping up any stars left unguarded by anyone but he's definitely on the back foot now. Red, Green and I have all been having a slice of pink pie.

He knew exactly how many stars it would take to grab a star defended by a couple of ships - at the time it was 15. He'd have a few of these going at once snapping up worthwhile stars with big industry and science. I had to change my tactics a little to compensate. Instead of leaving 1 ship at a star, I'd leave 25. That'd be much more difficult to capture for someone with diminishing ships.

As I've already said, Red has done a great job and Green has even come through too. He took about 6 pink stars yesterday. Pink is now in 3rd place, with only one star more than 4th place red. I think that's a real achievement for red. If he works hard, he might even make 2nd place. I have to start thinking about the end game though. If I want to win (which I do obviously), I'm going to have to do something really special. More than anything I dont want everyone in the galaxy attacking me - that's what happened to Pink and looks what's become of it. I think for the time being, we have to concentrate on taking out Pink 100%. I might be able to handle 2 players, but there's no way I could handle 3.

Here's an interesting picture, this is actually in two places in the galaxy right now, further up north too near where we all meet.

So Pink is using a single star to rally all his forces. He has about 170 ships there and more on their way. He also has a load of fleets just sat there. The fleets were used to collect ships from his outlying stars and to bring them here. If you notice, he's also got 9 industry there which is helping build up his ships there. It must've cost him a fortune to get to there. So what's he going to do at this star? I've spent a couple of days bringing a sizable fleet down here to counteract anything he might do. I've decided to take the star as close as possible to it so that when I make my attack, it'll be as quick as it can be. I feel like he's on 24/7 right now and so at a moments notice he can get away from any star in danger.

The other thing he might do is split up his ships into blocks of 25 or so and try to take every star of mine nearby. It might work but it'd be extremely costly to him and I to take them back. I'm still not sure what to do about these two stars. I could get lucky and manage to take it before he realises - yeah right!
