Nervous

Another 24 hours come, another 24 go in the galaxy of Neptune's Pride.
Pink is pretty much decimated right now. I used some enormous fleets to take 2 of his three big holdups. They cost me ships but they cost him more. And out of it I get science and 9 industry a piece. Here's what the map looks like now:

The message flow between my "comrades" has been very minimal this past few days. Once the pink sweep has been stopped, it seems like communication isn't quite as important. This could be due to the fact that I'm the common enemy now - I have no idea! Just to point out, I have 82 stars out of 111 needed to win. So that's more or less the same position that Pink was in when we all set out to destroy him. That has to make me wonder.

Well whatever, my game-plan right now is as follows: take the few remaining pink stars toward the south and let green and red snap up the few on the west. Whilst doing this, I'll be moving my fleets and collecting up ships outside of anyone else's scan range. There's no harm preparing for invasion even if there's no sign of it so far. I have to assume that green and red will gang up on me eventually and thereby trading techs, combining ship fleets and all that good stuff that I initiated last time. The closer I get to winning, the more likely the invasion.

I'm also thinking of leaving a handful of pink stars at the very south with some fleets sat next to them so they're ready to take at a moments notice. That way, my star count will not be quite so high. If red and green do attack, then there's no harm in taking them.

Something else to note, I'm in a very interesting position where I can see every single star and fleet that is owned by red. I'd hate to backstab red to win, he's been my buddy the entire game.

  1. You may be able to see all of red, but he's also in an ideal position to launch an attack you. He cuts right into the middle of your territory, and can provide intel for Green.

How much do you trust red? After how he was looking a week ago, he might be pretty happy to finish in second place. If so, you could tactically suggest helping him achieve that goal.

A coalition between you and red guarantees 1st and 2nd place for you both. A coalition between green and red doesn't really guarantee anything for anyone.
